The religious traditions all contain the truth: Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism. Five gateways to the source. But for Beurskens Christianity -or Roman-Catholicism- remains the main road, because he has been rooted in it by birth. Through history in a trajectory of twenty centuries faith has been passed down to him. This fact cannot be pushed aside. One cannot travel several roads at the same time without losing something essential. Tradition handed down for generations contains truth itself, not just a variation of it.

This doesn´t take away that a catholic can find much inspiration in the Qur′an. And somebody who calls himself a catholic and who says the Qur′an doesn´t contain truth, him escapes not only much of it, but he doesn´t understand the deeper meaning of the holy texts in his own tradition either. Who says that Allah is somebody else than God, certainly does not comprehend much of Allah, but he does not comprehend much of his own God either.
